A dream......
There you were,
As clear as day.
I went to reach for you,
But you were too far away.
Your bright gentle eyes met mine,
As though we were one.
As I looked deep into them,
Your heart I thought I won.
You stood so tall and confident,
No one could bring you down.
But the strange thing was upon your face,
You carried a disheartening frown.
We met half way,
Between here and there.
When you took me in your arms,
I knew then that you really did care.
You said three magic words,
Those being “I love you”.
You caught me by surprise,
I didn’t know what to do.
So I held you even tighter,
Right near my delicate heart,
Praying to the God upstairs,
That you and I never part.
Together I wanted to be with you,
In your arms I wanted to stay,
But after a few memorable minutes,
You started to walk away.
Right then I heard a distinct sound.
It was a booming loud chime.
I didn’t want to believe,
That to wake up it was time.
Everything that happened with you,
So real it did seem.
But I had to face the fact,
That it was only a dream.
