According to the MT, if Abraham is the eldest, Abraham departed from Haran some sixty years before Terah’s death, but Stephen indicates that it was not until after his death. The SP has Terah die at 145 years (11:32), suggesting rather that Abraham left Haran upon his father’s death. Stephen’s sermon in Acts 7:4 and Philo’s [I]On the Migration of Abraham [/I](177) show that this tradition was wider than the Samaritans. Yet if a Greek variant agreeing with the SP existed, which could be the basis for the comments in Acts and Philo, there is no surviving evidence of it. If the MT is correct, Stephen’s statement can still be accounted for by positing that Abraham was born when Terah was 130 years of age: 70 (birth of Haran) + 60 (birth of Abraham) + 75 (Abraham’s departure) = 205 years (Terah’s death).
